| Vision Screening |
The Vision Screening Program involves a public health nurse to test the vision of children in the county schools who do not have a nurse on staff. These schools provide a pre-screen of all students, and then notify the public health nurse of all students that have a vision test of 20/40 or worse. The public health nurse then goes to the school and re-screens those children. When the re-screening indicates vision impairment, a letter is sent to the parents to make them aware of the impairment and recommend that the child see a vision care provider.
